Splat! Pow! Paintballing in Dubai

Two important skills for becoming a global business leaders are golf and teamwork. So on January 29, the Dubai Jaguars headed out to gorgeous Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club for a day of golf -- and paintball.

Think paintball is just running around and blasting paint at your foes? Wrong? As the Jags learned, it's all about strategy (and safety, of course). First up for the day was a cut-throat game of Capture the Flag, followed by President, where the goal is to protect a single team mate.

Of course, a trip to a country club wouldn't be complete without food, so the Jags dined at a sumptuous buffet before trying their hand at golf. Pros instructed them on the three ways to hit a golf ball --  putting, scoop shot and long shot. The latter was a big favorite, since Jags could just hit the ball as hard and as far as they wanted.

"Knowing a bit about golf is essential, because so many important deals are made on golf courses around the world," said Prof. Chris Abraham, head of the Dubai campus. "We want our students to be well-rounded professionals -- which is why we put so much effort into providing practical opportunities for them both inside and outside the classroom."

As Nikhil Kewalramani put it, “Our trip to Sharjah Paintball and Golf was awesome and exciting. Paintball taught us teamwork, skills to aim in the right direction and to always be in a competitive spirit.  We trained for golf and it was really fun to practice the three different parts of golf with our batch mates. The view was also breathtaking, and the weather was also really nice and cool.”
