Where do senior diplomats go when they visit Australia? Why, to S P Jain, of course. So when India's Union Finance Minister made his first-ever trip Down Under in late March, his first speaking engagement was to Jaguars at S P Jain's Sydney campus.
Hon. Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister, spoke to students on "Reimaging the Indian Economy." He explained initiatives undertaken by the Indian Government, the growing culture of entrepreneurship in India and opportunities the country offers for prospective investors. His delegation included His Excellency High Commissioner of India Mr Navdeep Singh Suri, Consul General of India Mr B. Vanlalvawna, and Deputy Consul General Dr Vinod Bahade.
"Such activities are an integral component for an education that goes beyond books and theory. They ensure that the education space is not a sheltered cocoon, but closely intertwined with the real world," said Dr. Susan Looms, Head of S P Jain’s Sydney Campus. "To make this happen, we work closely with groups like the Indian Consulate, the Confederation of Indian Industry, and local institutions like Ernst & Young and the Australian-Indian Business Council."
