Adventure! SP Jain Jaguars

Everything you need to know before joining

New Jag: Maly (Cambodia)

Hello everyone. My name is Chea Somaly (or Maly for short), from Cambodia. This is my first time to study overseas, which has been my dream since I was young. S P Jain has fulfilled one of the biggest goals of my life. I would like to enlarge my knowledge, learn more about other cultures and see what I have never seen before. I would also like to learn different styles of education systems and I will pass it on to the next generation.

Noli, the Albanian Jag: My Story

I am neither Theresa Turner, nor did my life start over in Iraq, but I find a piece of Theresa’s story in my life. My life was different from most of the other teenagers. I didn’t have a crazy awesome life, as most of adolescents have. Indeed my life was really boring, living in a small town in Albania. I was drowned in a monotonous life. My only entertainment was reading Russian novels. But as Theresa did, I said ‘Yes’ to new unusual opportunities. It happened that one day I met a very generous woman (you won’t believe but I met the real Theresa Turner) in my parents’ shop. She was a professor at an international school. Maybe she was the first one who was able to notice that I wasn’t really enjoying my life. Or maybe she was able to understand that I could achieve much more than reading Russian novels and going to a national university just for the sake of getting a degree.

Housing: Living Off Campus

Living on campus, or in S P Jain sponsored housing is the easiest (and often most fun) way to go. It's super-convenient, and near to all your friends. However, if finances are an issue, you can save money by living on your own, off-campus. In Singapore, you can rent a room with a family, or rent an apartment (maybe with other Jaguars). In Dubai, you can go together with your friends and rent a serviced apartment. In Sydney, you can rent a room, an apartment, whatever.

Tips for Global Travel from Kenaia

Many first-year SP Jain students have never traveled internationally before, or at least not without a family member. It can be a bit nerve-wracking to figure out flight info, layover timings, and exchanging currency between countries while struggling to keep your eyes open after a 3 AM flight! Luckily, there are a lot of things you can do ahead of time to make traveling between countries a little easier on yourself.
