Everything you need to know before joining

Jags Meet Prince of Liechtenstein

“The longest journey a man could ever embark on in life is the journey from his mind to his heart”. A poetic man of such high position, meeting His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein is such a short, yet very memorable experience. The moment that I was informed that we were to meet someone with such title, I was somehow excited and nervous at the same time since it would be my first time to be in such an event. When we got there, we immediately felt out of place since everyone seemed to be dressed so professionally and everyone seemed to also be in high positions of their own fields. There was wine, a lot of different kinds of cocktail food, and especially me and my friend’s own personal favourite: the Swedish meatballs!

Jags Meet Sen. Aquino

During the first week of the summer break students of S P Jain went to the Philippines for an outreach program. The program was an eventful and heart-warming experience that helped every one of us grow. Therefore it seemed fitting that upon completion of the outreach program we had the opportunity to meet with Senator Bam Aquino a social entrepreneur and a Senator of the Philippines.  Sen. Aquino is the Committee Chair for Trade and Social Development in the Philippine Senate and the youngest Senator ever voted into the Philippine Upper Chamber election history).

Football Tournaments in Dubai

Last week was a sports week for football enthusiasts at the Dubai campus. First, the BBAs and MBAs organized a 7-a-side football tournament which took place at a high school in Dubai. We tried our best to make it look professional by having appropriate bidding for the players, looking for sponsors for jerseys, having a caring management team for each team, etc… Football players, management, as well as the supporters all had unlimited fun. It was a suitable way to mix with the MBA students and get to know them more. It doesn’t end here.

Sweet Visit to KitKat in Dubai

Eating chocolates, especially KitKat, is very tempting. Many of us even eat them every day. However, have we ever wondered how these delicacies are processed and what they are made of? To clear this doubt of ours and make us see some practical lines of business, S P Jain organized an industry visit at the KitKat factory of Dubai.

China Community Project May 2013

Seeing a 6-year-old boy smile when you hand him a candy is a feeling that is unforgettable. But what made the China Community Service Trip so successful was the fact that we did not just make one boy happy; we helped an entire school. A school of 105 children. How did all of this start?

Desert Camping Plus Trips to Oman and Al Ain

Semester 4 in Dubai is getting better week by week. SP Jain is reinforcing their promise of “one activity at least per week”. On our first weekend after New Year, a camping was organized in the desert at Liwa, Abu Dhabi. This was an amazing experience, very different from our usual outings. Far away from everything—no network, no internet, completely away from our comfort zones.

Grande Ball in Dubai

All guys suited up, girls in their elegant dresses—get youself a partner, it’s time to party! When it comes to resting our minds before the exams, we are an ace at it. Last week was the pre-exams Barbecue. This week was our Grandé Ball 13'. Even this one forms part of our pre-exams culture. In Singapore also, we organized a similar party. However, this time, it happened in a 5-star hotel—Movenpick Hotel. Good food, dancing, chilling in some high class environment—the appropriate way of ending the weekend on this Saturday night. The party ended by rewarding the best dressed guy and girl, and also the best dressed couple—decision from one of the faculty members.

Barbecue in Dubai -- A Pre-Finals Tradition

Yummy grilled chicken, saucy veggies, BBQ by the seaside? Tempting, right? That’s the S P Jain culture—we always organize a BBQ one or two weeks before our semester exams. It is the perfect timing for this since it relieves stress us just before taking our exams and gives us a break from our very concentrated revision. This time, in Dubai, it was at the Al Mamzar beach park. Great scenery, beautiful gardens, fine sand, warm water—it was an amazing place to spend the evening together, with all the friends.
