Adventure! SP Jain Jaguars

Jamaican Jag WOWs Academic City

Public speaking is a key skill if you want to be a global business leader. And the best way to learn is by practice, right? Just ask Aindrea Sewell (BEC15) from the island of Jamaica, who was the opening speaker at Dubai International Academic City's (DIAC) Week of Welcome (WOW) in February. The three-day festival greeted 26,000+ students from over 30 universities to the largest educational free zone in the world.

Aindrea was selected for the honor in part because of her contributions as a DIAC Student Representative, as well as being President of the S P Jain Student Council. She shared her rich experiences, and gave advice about being a Dubai student to incoming freshmen, sophomores and senior students. She also introduced the senior management of DIAC, Tecom Security, HSE, and the
Dubai Police. The audience learned about Dubai rules and regulations, and received suggestions about health and safety, to ensure a successful student experience while in DIAC.

"I've had such an amazing variety of experiences by joining S P Jain," said Aindrea. "But now, being in my 2nd year in Dubai, I get to share this experience with students not only from my university, but from 24 other universities in the DIAC!"
